Kyle tells me, "that the really smart students have to prove they're smart, which is not what comes easy to the really smart ones, and the ones who are sort of smart but work their asses off get the spotlight, when they're really just sort of half faking knowing how it all works," and that, "people get rewarded for kissing ass and doing what the teacher tells them, not for actually having intelligence and perception and understanding and new ideas. instead the people who get rewarded are the ego climbers and the whipped mules of the world." Now, I believe this to be true, I know this to be true. But I can't accept it because I'm one of the sort of smart ones, who work their asses off and are just sort of half faking it. It's worked for me, and might be one of the main ways I get all of the free shit I do. How I survive in this world. Now I just have to find a way not to be a mule and still get the most out of life.
